You could received either a letter (internally) from Autodesk demanding SCAN WIN audit, or a letter from Autodesk legal cousel (Donahue Fitzgerald). Our firm deals with many different software companies including Solidworks, Vero, and the Business Software Alliance ("BSA") which handles many Microsoft audits (but also may represent Autodesk as a member of the BSA).įrom what we have noted, the BSA has been taking more of a hands-off approach during this pandemic - to their credit - but Autodesk is maintaining a very aggressive legal stance. They may demand that you submit to this audit per the terms of your EULA. If you receive a letter demanding a ScanWin audit, I would be very careful and first seek legal counsel. Now is a good time to check on your corporate licensing position. They are seeking STIFF penalties even against good paying clients.
