Thank you to all who applied with your thoughtful and purposeful project ideas. It aims to support reconciliation through the practice of education, understanding, dignity, and respectful action. The IPF is a fund created to celebrate Indigenous culture and to increase community belonging and inclusiveness. We thank the IPF committee for their dedicated work in assessing and selecting the projects, and to donors who make this fund possible. Eight projects were selected, and a total of $67,145 has been disbursed. Trustees receive a small honorarium for their services which include attending one or … Read moreĪbout 2023 North Salt Spring Water District election results Trustees are elected by the ratepayers of the District who are present at the Annual General Meeting to represent them and make decisions on their behalf for a term of three years. To be eligible as a nominee candidates must be a Canadian Citizen, 18 years of age or older, an owner of land in the North Salt Spring Waterworks District whose account is in good standing, and entitled to be registered as a voter under the Elections Act. Elections take place at the Annual General Meeting – usually held in April of each year.

The District’s trustees are elected officials who serve a three-year term on behalf of the District ratepayers. The North Salt Spring Waterworks District (NSSWD) provides potable water to a large portion of Salt Spring Island, including over 5,500 year-round residents, the hospital, schools, hotels and restaurants, and many island businesses in the village of Ganges.
